EU Resettlement Figures Revealed
Host: The Evening Standard
New figures have revealed that over 1.8 million people have applied to stay in the UK after Brexit.
The Government’s EU settlement scheme is designed to filter applications from EU nationals and their relatives who are currently living in the UK.
It’s also been revealed that while two-thirds of applicants have been granted full settled status, only two applications have been rejected.
Over half a million applications have been received from people originally from Poland or Romania.
Meanwhile, around 1.4 million British expats are nervously monitoring the scheme as they look to secure their own settlement rights in their respective EU countries of residence.
